If you would like to play with HPtuners and do not have any experience with cars I would reccomend getting a reputable tune from someone and using it to get a good starting point for fine tweaking. It also would justify selling hair cuts to friends to recoup my cost either.

I could buy a pair of scissors but that won't make me a hair stylist. There are other things like camshaft position tuning that would be absoulutely impossible without some accurate measure of performance.

You will need to know how to best adjust shift points, shift firmness, spark tables and fuel settings safely or else less than optimal performance or even engine/ trans damage could occur.
